Our theme is “ONE”

 

Diversity, unity, and love are the key ingredients to the functioning of the Body of Christ as God wills.  The diversity of the members causes the unity.  Again, we need each other.  Love balances unity and diversity.  Without love diversity may cause jealousy, envy, pride, hatred, and, ultimately, anarchy. All which are extreme enemies to unity.

 

ONENESS occurs when…

 

We experience UNITY in DIVERSITY in LOVE.

 

In Romans 12, I Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4, God describes believers’ relationships to each other in terms of the members of a body.  Each believer is a living part of Christ’s body, and each has a spiritual function to perform. Each believer has been given the ability to serve as a gift of grace from God.  This service is to be used for the building up of the Body and the perfecting of the other members of the Body.  We belong to each other, we minister to each other, and we need each other.  Isolation apart from the body contradicts the fundamental plan of God for the Church today.  We need to be together in order to carry out God’s will for our individual lives, as well as for the whole Body.

 

During MLK weekend we will be considering the following:  UNITY of the Body, the DIVERSITY of the members’ supply, and the right behavior of LOVE.
